[that awkward moment when you realize you are the third wheel]
Of course Bradley had known about the hair. Colin had told him a couple weeks back via Skype that he was going to have to get his hair dyed for Testament of Youth and Bradley had laughed disbelievingly; his health-oriented Colin putting something as harmful as hair dye in his jet black hair?
But now, seeing, physically being able to lay eyes on Colin’s perfect dimples, pasty Irish skin and the light caramel-brown highlights accenting his midnight hair, marred only by the grainy pixels which allowed Bradley to see Colin while he lives in America and Colin remained in Europe, Bradley didn’t know what to say.
"Hey," Colin smiled, his smile lagging a few seconds behind his crystal-clear Irish accent.
"Hey back atcha." Bradley responded, eyes tracking the movement of Colin’s hand, running nervously through his hair.
A silence followed as Bradley watched Colin playing with his hair, and Colin’s blue eyes bore into Bradley’s face, evaluating the micro-expressions he has grown to know so well.
Five more minutes passed before Colin finally asked, “Well, what do you think?”
Bradley smirked lightly, blue eyes snapping onto Colin’s insecure azure ones.
"What do I think about what, Cols?"
"You know-" Colin stopped fidgeting with his hair long enough to gesture at the highlights, "about the hair."
Bradley took a moment, mulling over his answer for a millisecond longer than Colin would have felt comfortable and all the insecurity poured into Colin’s innocent face. Instantly noticing the change in Colin, even from over 1000 miles away, Bradley felt, not for the first time, like all he wanted to do was get on a plane, fly to Colin and make it known - to the world and to Colin - that Colin was nothing but absolute perfection.
"Well," Bradley paused, "let’s just say that when I get there next week, they better still be in so I can show you just how I feel about those highlights.”
Bradley was positive that the smile that broke out over Colin’s face could brighten London, on its stormiest day.
